Kamsiyochukwu (Kamsi) stared at her computer screen, her fingers hovering uncertainly over the keyboard. At just 12 years old, she had always been curious about technology, but she never imagined she could actually create something with it. That was until last summer when her parents enrolled her in the Kids Code Camp at Innovation Growth Hub.
On the first day, Kamsi felt overwhelmed. The other kids seemed to know so much already. But then she met Mr. Frank, their instructor. His eyes twinkled as he said, “Remember, every expert was once a beginner. You’re here to start your journey.”
Over the next month, Kamsi’s world exploded with possibilities. She learned to code, design graphics, and even dabble in embedded systems. Each day brought new challenges, but also new triumphs. She made friends who shared her budding passion, and together they laughed, learned, and created.
The Code Fest at the end of the camp was Kamsi’s moment to shine. She presented a simple app she had built – a digital storytelling platform for kids. As she demonstrated her creation, Kamsi saw her parents’ eyes fill with pride. But more importantly, she felt a new confidence in herself.
Months later, Kamsi sat at her computer, no longer hesitant. Her fingers flew across the keyboard as she worked on her latest project – a website to help local artisans sell their crafts online. She smiled, remembering Mr. Frank’s words: “Technology is a tool. Your imagination is the limit.”
That summer camp had been more than just a month of learning. It was the spark that ignited Kamsi’s passion and showed her a world of possibilities.
