How Innovation Growth Hub collects, uses and protects your personal data.
Last updated: November 2026
Who we are
Innovation Growth Hub (“IGHub”, “we”) runs innovation hubs at Innovation City, 10 Calabar Street, Off Aba-Owerri Road, Aba, and 3rd Floor, Luzen Plaza, No. 6 Ojike Street, Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. We are the data controller for personal data collected through ighub.ng, our programmes and our spaces. Contact: info@ighub.com.ng.
What we collect
- Details you give us: name, email, phone number, age or school level, and what you tell us in forms, applications and emails.
- Programme records: attendance, project work, assessments, certificates and, for SIWES students, logbook information.
- Children’s data: for Kids Code Camp and AI for Kids, we collect a child’s name and age and a parent or guardian’s contact details, provided by the parent or guardian.
- Visits and events: sign-in records, and photos or videos taken at public events.
- Website data: basic technical logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) needed to run and secure the site.
How we use it
- To reply to enquiries and process applications.
- To deliver programmes, incubation, services and space bookings you ask for.
- To issue certificates and confirm training to schools or employers when you ask us to.
- To send updates about programmes you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep our hubs and website safe, and to meet legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, on performing a contract with you, on our legitimate interests in running the hub, and on legal obligations, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 allows.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the hub (for example email and hosting providers), with programme partners or sponsors when a programme you join requires it and we have told you so, or when the law requires it.
Photos at events
We may photograph or film public events and classes to share our work. Tell a staff member if you do not want to appear, and we will respect that. We ask a parent or guardian before publishing identifiable images of children.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for up to two years, and programme and certificate records for as long as needed to confirm your training. We then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent, or receive a copy of it. Email info@ighub.com.ng. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, and we limit access to staff who need it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
